Abstract
I suggest MMP where the PR element does not depend on party lists. The PR seats would be chosen from among a party's riding candidates who received the highest percentage of votes but failed to win a seat [best losers]. [1 page]

You must have looked at the following option by now: a mixed system [MMP] where the proportional representation element does not depend on party lists.   The allocation of PR seats is, of course, awarded according to a party's general vote.  Instead of a party's PR MLAs being chosen by a party list, however, the people who qualify for the PR seats are those regular election candidates who, from among all of their party's candidates, receive the highest percentage of votes in their respective constituencies, save for the winners.

If you want the system to be more nuanced, although more complicated, you can add a geographic distribution factor.
