Abstract
If the party with the largest vote gets less that 50% of the votes, it loses the election.  All the other parties will be required to form the government.  This arrangement will ensure that governments always have majority support.  [1 page]

There are really only two electoral divisions in BC; the Left and the Right.  The first past the post electoral system has made BC what it is today.

If you want to tinker with the voting system, try this:   If a party wins 50 percent or more of the vote vote at a general election, it forms the government.  But if the party with the largest vote gets less that 50 percent of the votes, it loses the election and does not form the government.  In this latter case, the combined vote of all the other parties will be more that 50 percent, and these parties will be required to form the government (if any party refuses, it loses its party status).

This arrangement will guarantee that governments always have majority support, but even this change has some drawbacks.
