We like to think of Canada as a democracy but that is not so if
our elected officials can ignore 42% of the voting public as if
they do not exist. People do not vote because 'it is no use I would
not be heard anyway'. When the Liberals removed the opposition
status from the two opposition members they showed total disrespect
for democracy. I would like to see our voting system changed so it
will be a valid opposition.
I grew up in Norway where they voted for a party (list of
candidates) and was represented by percentage of votes [PR]. This
voting system did not give Norway an unstable government.
