Submission Content
I strongly believe BC should implement proportional representation, which has worked well in such countries as New Zealand. Once voters see that their selections are reflected in representation in the Legislature they will be much more enthusiastic about voting.

I oppose preferential balloting and compulsory voting.  Preferential ballots result in the election of everyone’s second or third choice and don’t represent the popularity of a specific party in the province.  It would be no improvement over the present system.  Compulsory voting would not only annoy but enrage B.C. voters. Adding it to the referendum question could result in defeat of our badly needed electoral reform.

Thank you for your hard work and for the chance to express my opinion.
