Abstract
I have already made a submission, in favour of MMP. I strongly agree with the Pro Rep Society that the STV system is far too complicated -- I am unable to follow the counting system - and ill-suited to BC. [1 page]

Submission Content
The following has been brought to my attention by the Free Your Vote - Pro Rep Society staff:

"From the over thousand people who made submissions and presentations, a committee of the Citizens' Assembly has chosen 9 people as final presenters to the entire Assembly. Despite the fact that only 4% of total BC respondants spoke in favor of STV, 3 of the 9 final presenters are STV advocates as well as being members of an organized advocacy group. Only two people are being allowed to speak for MMP, neither of them experts, even though 70% of all submissions favored MMP. Only 2 of nine presenters are women! This situation highlights an abnormal bias and undermines the integrity of the Assembly."

I have already made a submission, in favor of MMP. I strongly agree with the Pro Rep Society that the STV system is far too complicated -- I am unable to follow the counting system - and ill-suited to British Columbia. If the Society's allegation is correct, I wish to go on record as being very strongly opposed, both to the selection bias of the final 9 presenters, and more importantly, very strongly opposed to the STV system. I advocate MMP (please refer to my earlier submission for details Fraser 0289) as the best first step for British Columbia in electoral reform.
