My views on this subject are pretty clear. The present system needs to be improved and some form of proportional representatio seems to be the best way.

I would support keeping the total members elected to the present level with about 30% of them being chosen from the Party Lists and the balance from the Electoral districts but not increasing the total number of seats in the Legislature. I know this will mean increasing the size of electoral districts but that is not a problem to me.

I would also recommend that the threshold for a party to have any Party seats be set at about 5% so as to minimize the potential splinter parties in the house, while still providing the balance in good government that minority parties will bring.

As a parting thought, I would suggest not using the title Mixed Member Proportional [MMP] to describe this system   Just stick with Proportional Representation It’s just more understandable.
