I could not be at the public hearings but want to let you know what I consider to be important in your deliberations.

I think a mixed member proportional [MMP] representation system would best represent the fairness needed in our voting system. It has worked with good success in other countries.

If we are prepared to change the system we now have, it seems to me that this system would be the fairest and most representative. We do not totally have to reinvent the wheel, but since we are so large a country and so diverse, we need to make sure we adopt a system that represents us the best. I know this is a provincial assembly dealing with this most important issue. Nonetheless what BC develops could quite conceivably become a model for federal elections too.
