I just wanted to support the idea of changing the voting system
in BC. In my riding (Victoria), the majority
of voters voted NDP or Green but the Liberals more votes than
either of these two parties individually so they won the
riding. So we have a left wing riding with a right wing
representative, after most of the voters cast left wing
votes. How fair is that? A large chunk of
the province voted green and they got no seats. No
wonder a lot of young people don’t bother to
vote. If you think your vote only counts if it goes
only to a major party, what’s the point? An
MMP type system would allow all voters to get the representation
they deserve and would avoid some of the pitfalls of the current
system.
Keep up the good work.
