B.C. badly needs a Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) voting system, not a Single Transferable Vote (STV) system. In general this would provide a truer democracy; in particular this would soften the severity of the election swings from one side to the other of the polictical spectrum. This can be done without increasing the size of the legislative assembly; in fact the legislature has grown far too large and expensive and should be significantly reduced in size. To the extent that this would increase the size of our constituencies, so be it.

It's high time our urban legislators started using available technology to reach a larger constituency in a larger area, something their northern counterparts have had to learn to do already.

Let's get on with MMP and give the citizens a chance to vote on the issue.
