No system is absolutely perfect, but the current first past the
post system is the most stable system. In a proportional
system, the smaller parties will have disproportionately greater
and consequently menacingly disruptive power. [1 page]

I don't see any reason for changing the current system.
No system is absolutely perfect, but the current first past the
post system is the most stable system.
In a proportional system, the smaller parties will have
disproportionately greater and consequently menacingly disruptive
power. Though supporters of proportional representation push their
case in the name of "greater democracy", they want a situation in
which the tail will wag the dog. This type of situation is
fundamentally flawed and will force the government of the day to be
more preoccupied with its survival than delivering public service.
