I favour the mixed member proportional [MMP] method as it is simple and results in a good compromise between proportional representation and local representation. [1 page]

I think the current first past the post system is dreadful. It perpetuates a two party system, leads one to vote against the worst of two evils rather than vote for one's real preference, and the result does not translate the voting percentages into percentages of seats.
